This one-of-a-kind raku bowl balances graphic clarity with the unpredictability of fire.

Hand-built and raku fired, the form sits low and open at 26cm wide and 7cm tall — generous in presence yet calm in proportion. The surface is finished in a soft ivory crackle glaze that has absorbed smoke during the post-firing reduction, creating a warm interior blush that gently deepens toward the centre.

Sweeping charcoal lines arc across the bowl’s interior and exterior, intersecting with quiet confidence. The linear decoration remains sharp and deliberate, while the crackle beneath it is entirely organic — each fine fissure created by rapid cooling and permanently marked by smoke. No two pieces could ever share this exact surface.

Subtle tonal shifts and fire markings along the rim and base speak honestly of the raku process. Nothing is forced. Nothing is repeatable.

At 628g, it has a reassuring weight that feels grounded and substantial.
