A vibrant, expressive hand-built raku vase featuring layers of lush green, teal, and violet, offset with flashes of orange and delicate black linework. The surface has a painterly, almost botanical quality — like a cluster of abstract foliage caught mid-motion. Its curved, asymmetric form adds an easy flow, emphasising the organic, handmade nature of the piece.
Fired in the raku kiln to around 1000°C, this vase bears all the hallmarks of the traditional Japanese technique: subtle smoke blushes, soft grey speckling, and a network of fine crazing that enhances the depth of colour. Each raku piece is unique, shaped by chance and atmosphere, ensuring no two are ever alike
.
Beautiful as a statement piece or as a vessel for dried flowers, this vase brings a touch of contemporary artistry to any space.
